Please attend the Family Law CLE Extreme Risk Protection Orders, presented by Evan Branigan. This presentation offers 0.4 Ethics Credit.

An Extreme Risk Protection Order (ERPO) is a new legal tool in Colorado designed to save lives from gun violence. How does an ERPO work? Who can file an ERPO? And what’s a TERPO? This presentation will also review ethical considerations for ERPO litigation, including: lawyer as advisor, communication with represented persons, and candor to the tribunal in ex parte hearings. Finally, the preamble to the Colorado Rules of Professional Conduct suggests that a lawyer has four functions. What can Gerardus Mercator teach us about being a better lawyer?
