These are unsettling and uncertain times for us all. For small and medium-sized businesses, “shelter at home orders” force closures and necessarily prioritize public health over economic activity. As a result, the COVID-19 pandemic and the economic crisis it has induced are forcing businesses to consider furloughs, layoffs, sick- and paid family leave benefits, health insurance, production and store-front precautions, supply chain disruptions, performance obligations, and other aspects of the business that operate seamlessly in ordinary circumstances.
