This presentation will discuss the case of Fermin Salguero Quijada v. Northguard Insurance Company, a Denver District Court case in which a jury awarded $145 million in damages for workers' compensation bad faith and outrageous conduct.

Among topics discussed will be basic facts of case,  the complaint, choice of defendants, pre-trial proceedings and discovery, Plaintiff’s trial team, usage of focus groups, verdict, and lessons learned.      

Gregory Cairns, the workers’ compensation attorney for Mr. Salguero, will present the procedural history of the workers’ compensation case leading to referral to Brad Irwin.  Mr. Irwin will dissect the bad faith/outrageous conduct case from start to finish.
